This morning I woke up at 7 a.m., no working at Kanekiki on Saturday, hurray! =D
My First Bike Ride in Hawaii
I headed to the community room and worked on my fruitarian blog for two hours. Then I taught a private yoga class to Ray. It was her first yoga class EVER. We had a great time, I am sure we will be doing it again soon.
After that we headed downstairs and got ready to go on my first bike ride in Hawaii. The weather kept threatening to rain and surely enough it began to as soon as we got outside Kanekiki.
I had decided to ride wearing nothing by my boxers. It felt very freeing but the rain on my skin and the wind from riding got me a on a chill start. Luckily as soon as my body warmed up the rain stopped bothering me.
We headed towards the lighthouse and rode our bikes for 10 minutes or so. The road was made of dirt and gravel and I thought I was going to lose balance at any time, luckily I made it there and back in one piece with no scratches at all.
We could have made it all the way to the water but to get there we would have needed to ride on the lava rocks and my bike nor myself were prepared for that. After a short break we headed back to Kanekiki. I had a lovely time riding with Ray and we asked each other to take ourselves out on bike rides more often.
Working on my Fruitarian Bodybuilder site
As soon as we got back to Kanekiki we picked up a pair of fresh coconuts and opened them up. I swear I had the best coconut on the farm. I know I said that before but this one was even better. I ended up opening a coconut for Julia as well, I enjoyed the extra practice.
Julia drank her coconut water and ate half of the coconut meat, I took the rest and headed upstairs to work on my website. Ray helped me figure out some things online and for the following two hours I focused on search engine optimization and a few other technical things. It is not the most exciting job but someone has to do it. For now, that someone is me.
The conversation with Ray left me feeling better about my Fruitarian Bodybuilder website and inspired me to keep building it up. I am now even more inspired to continue to write more blogs and keep sharing all this information with you. I even wrote a new blog post on fruitarian recipes for weight loss which has three recipes worth trying out. I know it ain’t my best writing but at least it is a start.
Making it Safe Past My Coconut Binge
I thought that all that coconut was going to bloat me and know me out but I actually did not feel so bad at all. I am guessing it may be because I ate the coconut meat alone instead of mixing it with other fruits or vegetables.
I worked for another two hours on my book about fruitarianism while I let the coconut digest and then I went downstairs to make a salad. I decided to process all the produce I had since tomorrow is Sunday and we are going to the Maku market with the Kanekiki crew. This will be the last Maku market of the year, it is crazy how to time flies.
Giant Salads keep beating me up
The salad came out great. It had some semi-ripe papayas, a dozen mini cucumbers, the juice of two small lemons, two carrots, four gloves of garlic, two small tomatoes, a bunch of green beans and half a large avocado. I ended up spreading two tablespoons of tahini on top. I threw it all in the food processor, it tastes amazing. Everyone who tried it gave me the thumbs up.
Unfortunately the quantity I made was too much and because of the flavor, and my unwillingness to leave some for later, I wasn’t able to stop eating. Fortunately Sam approached me half way through it wanting to talk and gave me a good excuses to put my salad down. Destiny also helped by sneaking her spoon on my bowl half a dozen times.
Learning from Harry Potter and Spending Time with Sam
After talking with Sam we both laid on the couch to watch the last of the Harry Potter movies. Right before the film began there was a short video of J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter books. Her comments reminded me of the earlier failures she had as a writer at the beginning of her career. I remember how she got rejected by a dozen plus publishers before someone gave her Harry Potter books a chance. It was inspiring to know that she also had humble beginnings and it gave me hope that my writing will reach many people as well, millions perhaps, who knows…
The movie was great, one of my favorite of all time. The Harry Potter story is excellent and all the acting and special effects were great. I was glad I took a break from working to space out and enjoy my time.
After the movie Sam and I stayed in the Kanekiki community room talking for another hour or two. Sam and I are so similar that I proposed her to play a game where we each share things about us that we see are different. It was nice to learn so much more about her.
Eventually she went down to bed and I stayed up working on this blog. Now it is pouring hard and I don’t feel like walking to my hut. I think I am going to sleep upstairs tonight. I guess I will play it by ear.
Goodnight.
