Today was my first day on the Fruitarian Bodybuilding Athlete Challenge. I woke up at 5 a.m. after sleeping for 8 hours but stayed in bed until 5:45. It was very hard for me to get out of bed, I just didn’t have enough motivation and the space under my blanket was too warm and cozy.
By 6 a.m. I was at the Kanekiki Farm community room. I did 20 minutes of qigong, 20 minutes of yoga and 10 minutes of Foundation Training. After that, I got up to eat some papayas and get ready for a full day of work.
Work went by pretty fast, maybe because I worked an hour less than usual. After work I met with Barb to touch base on a few things and spent the rest of the day working on my computer.
Around 4 p.m. I did some more exercising. This included 20 minutes of yoga, 20 minutes of quats, abs and other simple exercises and a 20 minute walk with Jake. The last 10 minutes were spent playing ping pong. I know that isn’t much of a workout but I am letting it fly by because it involves active movement and gets my heart pumping.
Today’s workouts felt lazy and somewhat lame but I knew it would take me a bit to get flowing. I hope I will be able to hit the gym tomorrow and do some weight lifting. I know I said almost anything counts as exercise but I need to put more energy into my workouts. Otherwise I will get my daily hours of movement but I will not see any results from them.
Luckily I ate only fruit all day, mainly papayas during the day and 4 avocados for dinner. I also took a picture of myself and wrote this blog. Considering that I slept 8 hours last night, I will allow myself to get 5 stars for today. I am being a bit generous but I think it is fair considering this is day 1 of my Fruitarian Bodybuilding Athlete Challenge. Hopefully tomorrow I can step on the gas and focus even more.
