Today’s Fruitarian Bodybuilding Athlete Challenge was a fair success. I got my full 5 star set by eating a fully fruitarian diet, getting 2+ hours of exercise, sleeping 8 hours, writing this blog and taking a photo for my fruitarian before and after pictures collection.
What I ate Today on my Fruitarian Diet
For breakfast I had a bunch of papayas, I think they were eight in total. For lunch I had a banana and date smoothie and an hour later I had some bites of Ray’s and Jake’s “mamey pie” which had mamey sapote and bananas. For dinner I munched on a total of four reasonably sized avocados and an orange that I had been saving all week. It was delicious.
I must admit that I was feeling pretty tired in the afternoon, especially before my dates and bananas smoothie. I am not sure if it was because I hadn’t had enough calories in the morning or because I didn’t get as much sleep as I needed (even though I got 8 hours of sleep I still got woken up abruptly by an important phone call that got me out of bed).
I would love to eat more calories but sometimes I am just not in the mood to eat that much. I also find fruit to be ridiculously expensive in Hawaii, which sadly narrows my options. It is paradoxical that I moved all the way to Hawaii to eat as much local, raw, organic fruit as possible but I still don’t get enough because of the price. This, however, is my own fault since, although expensive, fruit here is still affordable and I am able to purchase as much as I need, yet, I prefer to save money and thus I end up eating less than I need. I need to get out of this loop.
Taking a Step Forward to Build Fruitarian Muscle
My two hours of exercise were divided throughout the day. In the morning I got up and did some stretching in my hut while talking to my roommates. I also did some planks and squats to kill some time, it all took me about 30 minutes.
Right after that, Jake and I headed to the Kanekiki Farm community room and did some Foundation Training by following the Free DVD Download I have on my computer. It was Jake’s first time doing Foundation Training, he seemed to like it, but after 20 minutes he got tired of it. We finished our workout with 10 easy minutes of yoga.
During the afternoon I went on a couple of walks to add another 40 minutes and completed my 2 hours with 20 minutes lifting weights in the gym. I didn’t do much because I was tired by then but I am glad I got in there and got to build some fruitarian muscle.
Summarizing another Fruitarian Bodybuilding Day
Even though I got five full stars for this day of fruitarian bodybuilding, I am still not completely happy with my performance. I want to thrive and show the world that fruit is all I need. At the same time, I need to respect the fact that I need to sleep and eat as much as my body requires. I also need to be more careful with my mental and emotional energy, I have been careless with it over the past month.
Taking in consideration all that I am going through, I still think that fruitarianism is doing me much good and I still have enough faith in the fruitarian diet to continue to pursue this dream. I am only five days into this challenge and I know I can change this mood around and succeed.
