Today was an intense day.
In the morning I worked clearing the back of the Kanekiki Farm. I was chopping down weeds and cane grass for three hours straight. I was pretty exhausted by the end. I had some papayas for breakfast and then took a break to work on my fruitarian books. I already have 4,000 words edited with a couple dozen sources to back up my statements, it is looking great.
During the afternoon I had an intense conversation with one of the new girls that recently arrived to the Kanekiki Farm. I shared my attraction towards her right from the first day and as more thoughts and emotions came up I continued to share them with her. We ended up talking for two hours, it was heart opening and at the same time, emotionally draining.
At 3:30 p.m. I met with Destiny in the kitchen to prepare our meal for tonight. We chose to make a fruitarian recipe version of lasagna. It looked amazing and tasted great. We had a dozen layers in there and almost twenty ingredients. It was out of this freaking world. Below are some pictures so you can see what we made.
An Amazing Dinner with Our Raw Vegan Community
After finishing our dish we helped others with cleaning and then set up the tables upstairs. Dinner started at 5 p.m. and it was wonderful, I love our raw vegan community, words can’t describe.
Before digging in the wide assortment of raw recipes we all shared our gratitude for Andy, who is living next week, the community and the abundance of raw foods sitting at our tables. Then we began to pass a couple of dozen dishes around the table.
The food tasted AMAZING. It was seriously out-of-this-world. It is hard to believe raw foods could taste so good but I am truly not exaggerating, it was a mind blowing experience. We all ate until we were stuffed, I thought I was going to pass out but an hour later I was feeling just fine. It is almost like magic.
After our dinner Sam, Kim, Bitzy and I sat outside on the grass and played with guitars, ukuleles and drums. We sang for about an hour under the stars before calling it a night.
Before going to bed I had another intense conversation, this time with Sam. It went really well, but it was also quite exhausting. Being honest and sincere takes effort and I don’t find it easy yet, but I am certainly getting much better. I feel blessed that I am surrounded by so many awesome people at the Kanekiki Farm with whom I can talk openly.
My Last Day as an Intern at the Kanekiki Farm
That is all I have to say for now. This was my last day of working as an intern at the Kanekiki Farm. Next week I will start working as a work trade and my work load will double. I am not sure how much longer I will stay here, it is a conversation I am yet to have with the owners of the farm. It seems that I am welcome to stay, at least that is what Vicky and Barb told me during our meeting in their car.
We will see how things play out, I am open to what the universe has prepared for me. =D
