Michael Arnstein is a name synonymous with the fruitarian community, known as The Fruitarian, he has proven that it is possible to be a successful fruitarian athlete. While he may not be the most experienced or the oldest fruitarian runner out there, he is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable figures when it comes to athletic performance on a fruitarian diet.
In 2009, Michael transitioned to a fruitarian diet with the sole aim of enhancing his athletic performance. At the time, he was an avid marathon runner looking to shave off some precious seconds from his personal best. However, he discovered that a fruitarian diet was more than he could have ever hoped for. Not only was he able to improve his marathon times immediately, but he also managed to increase his running distance from 50 to 150 miles. Michael has competed in numerous ultra-marathons and emerged victorious in many of them, all while sticking to a diet consisting of fruits and raw vegetables.
In a video of the Javelina Jundred Ultra Marathon in 2012, Michael can be seen winning the race, a testament to his prowess as a fruitarian athlete. In addition, he holds one of the ten fastest track records for the 100-mile race in the United States, completing the event in less than 13 hours. He is an inspiration to many, proving that a fruitarian diet is not a hindrance to athletic performance.
After three years of following a fruitarian diet, Michael founded the Woodstock Fruit Festival, a week-long event where fruitarians, raw vegans, and vegans gather to indulge in delicious fruit, engage in outdoor activities, and listen to enlightening speeches. The event has since attracted people from various countries and almost every state in the United States.
As a fruitarian athlete, Michael has been a tremendous influence on others, including myself, in transitioning to a fruitarian diet. Alongside Ted Carr and Mango Wodzak, author of Destination Eden, he has inspired many to adopt a fruitarian lifestyle. On his YouTube channel, The Fruitarian, you can find over 100 videos of Michael talking about his fruitarian diet and experiences as an ultra-marathon runner.
Michael’s achievements prove that it is possible to achieve high levels of athletic performance on a fruitarian diet, without any supplements or complements, just fruits and some vegetables.
