This morning I woke up in the Kanekiki community room’s couch. I spent the night there since I was too tired and lazy to walk back to my hut under the pouring rain.
Intending to Become 100% Fruitarian
I woke up around 7 a.m. with enough time to gather my things and head downstairs to catch the ride to the Maku Sunday market with the Kanekiki crew.
At the market I got an almost purely fruitarian purchase, the only vegetables I got where carrots and I only chose these because they were cheap, $2 for 3. I ended up regretting this later since my intention has returned to transitioning fully to absolute fruitarianism. I am baffled at the fact that silly things like a subjective “good deal” can keep me away from my goals and intentions. Then again, sometimes I think my goals and intentions are just as silly.
My Failed Attempt to Ecstatic Dance
I was hoping to return back to Kanekiki in time to head over to the ecstatic dance that is hosted at the Kalani yoga retreat center every Sunday. Unfortunately, one of the members of our group did not cooperate on our project and lead us to return to Kanekiki 20 minutes after our preferred time.
I don’t know if she misunderstood our intentions or consciously decided to take her time at the market. I plan on having a conversation with her tomorrow just to clear the space. I was pretty upset to miss the ecstatic dance and at the same time I trusted that the universe had its own plans for my day.
Giant Salads vs. Fatty Salads
The rest of the day went by fairly slowly and without much excitement at all.
I made a couple of smoothies with banana and organic spirulina which was a successful experiment and I also had a salad for dinner which I carefully made sure to keep under control. Interestingly enough, the salad ended up feeling like too much food. This leads me to believe that the issue may not only be the use of too much content in the salad but the large quantities of fat I have included through the use of avocado and raw tahini. I plan on cutting down on both of these ingredients in these coming weeks.
Chilling and Socializing with the Kanekiki Crew
Other than writing a few pages for my fruitarian book, I spent the rest of the day playing music with the Kanekiki crew and watching the 6th movie of the Harry Potter series. I also had a nice conversation with Jo, one of the work traders at Kanekiki with whom I had not yet been able to connect.
Slow Day, Slow Night
To be honest I am not inspired to write much today. I feel like I just need to sleep and get ready for tomorrow’s work day. I don’t feel great right now but I trust this will be a successful week all around.
I promise to write more tomorrow and share more about what is going on in this side of the world of the Fruitarian Bodybuilder in Kanekiki.
Wishing you well,
